About SOPHIA

DSC05281_edited_edited.jpg

Sophia Ellis is an actor who utilizes her incredible work ethic to portray raw and grounded characters to inspire and uplift others through personifying the humanity of deeply moving stories. She always makes it her goal to be the hardest working person in the room as she hopes to never stop learning, failing, and growing. Constantly pushing herself out of her comfort zone to achieve progress, she intends to tell stories that inspire the best of humanity and cause people to stop and think.

Have you ever watched an actor’s performance and related so deeply that you felt less alone in the world? That is the exact experience Sophia hopes to bring to audiences, as she longs to move others just as intensely as she has experienced. Growing up in theatre, Sophia plans to branch out and work in the film and television industry to bring her sarcastic, intense, and striking personality to all roles.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Sophia fell in love with acting while watching the first Iron Man movie in theaters and decided to commit her life to this craft at the ripe age of four. After spending her entire childhood begging her parents to let her audition for Disney Channel, she went on to audition for every theatrical opportunity throughout middle and high school. Her passion led her to the University of Alabama where she recently graduated with a BFA in Acting and Vocal Performance minor.

Throughout college, Sophia was involved in multiple mainstage and student productions, as well as performed in various student films in lead and supporting roles. She has also written scripts for both the stage and screen and plans to produce them soon! Sophia has worked as both a teaching artist and teaching assistant, as she loves to share her passion of the arts with young minds full of energy and excitement.

Sophia believes it is imperative to travel the world and immerse oneself in other cultures, so she studied abroad in London for a summer to connect with locals while viewing West End productions. Proving to be her favorite city, Sophia hopes to one day live in the countryside of London with easy access to local coffee shops and book stores. Beyond acting, she loves to read thriller books, watch movies, and practice the piano and electric guitar (she can play a slow yet rad version of the intro to “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC). She also loves to work out and has recently gotten into running, as she trained for and completed two marathons within five months!

With a passion for cultivating deep connections with others, Sophia intends to never stop growing as an actor and a human. She hopes to inspire people through her work on screen and in her own life. She is ambitious and thrilled to explore new stories that reflect and challenge her throughout her career. Life is short and we should all enjoy ourselves a little bit more!
